Pulp and Dagger Fiction!

"The picture works because, despite what you know, you believe in Kong as a living creature. You feel bad that the ape is killed -- but you also feel tickled that you feel bad."
                                                          Pauline Kael, The New Yorker

Jeffrey Blair Latta, creator of the website, Kingdom Kong, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2006. Though only 40, Blair had suffered from health problems all his life, and finally succumbed after a lengthy recent illness. KINGDOM KONG will continue, certainly as it is, and perhaps with updates from time to time. Blair deserves that much. He found great satisfaction in creating this site (as well as other sites, such as the fiction webzine Pulp and Dagger) and the review site The Cimmerian Collection) and satisfaction in expressing his love for this particular motion picture. He enjoyed the number of people who clearly shared that love and who wrote to him, or signed his Guestbook, thanking him for articulating so well what they had always felt -- some of whom even became pen pals.

A more thorough memmorial web page will be posted shortly.
